Dear Ones,

A few Sunday’s ago we joined many around the world by holding a 'Blessing of Water'.....it was a meaningful (and fun) event as we met on a glorious day at the beach at Santa Monica to connect with others in heart and spirit around the planet to bless water. Board President, Dr. Jackie Lanum, opened with a beautiful, heart-centered meditation. Afterward participants were given vials of water to take with them and add to any water source they choose in a symbolic gesture to bless all water everywhere.

Eckhart Tolle points out that we can easily sense the ‘life essence’ - the indwelling consciousness - that a life-form has, and recognize that it is one with our own essence, for in truth we are one with all that surrounds us in this Divine Matrix. However, until we a make a shift in consciousness that will help us to perceive the life essence in other forms we can only see the ‘outer’ forms, unaware of the inner essence of the life that surrounds us. We seek not to 'change' others but simply to make this shift in our own consciousness.

On Father's Day, June 20th, we held a labyrinth walk at the church. Our labyrinth is unique in that it is encircled with the twelve attributes on which one may choose to meditate while walking. The event lasted into the evening in celebration of the Summer Solstice -which fell on the following Monday.

In a gesture to rid ourselves of old hurts- of the idea that we don’t “measure up” in some way- each participant was given paper ruler on which to write whatever it is that has caused them pain, injury or hurt -and then encouraged to burn it in the Burning Bowl. The Father's Day lesson used a construction metophor and was titled "A Blueprint for Life".

We continue to experience the joy of sharing our spiritual journey with members-new and old- of our Unity West family and are truly grateful for the experience and opportunities for personal growth. We are truly blessed.

In Love and Light,

Rev. Lee Lakso
